Day Hospice & Clinics
Here at Florence Nightingale Hospice we want to help our patients maintain independence, improve their quality of life and manage their symptoms.
Our range of Day Hospice services & clinics are designed to support those patients who are living with a progressive life-limiting illness.
Patients have access to our specialist team including Nurses, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Doctors, Complementary Therapists, Spiritual Care Team and Creative Therapist.
What is Day Hospice?
Our Day Hospice offers individual care for patients through therapeutic treatments, pain and symptom relief and a range of psychological support. All of the care we provide is tailored to you we’ll make sure we spend some time talking with you about how you’re feeling and any issues you have.
We provide a social setting for patients to learn new artistic skills through art therapies, join in quizzes and do jigsaws, reminisce and share their personal worries. Or just eat lunch and read the newspaper in the company of others, and enjoy an opportunity to get out of the house and have a change of scene.
Our experienced staff are available if you need a bit of help or have any worries. We are also supported by volunteers who are trained to work alongside staff to ensure that a high standard of individual care is provided.
A visit to Day Hospice can be as busy or as relaxed as a patient wishes. As a patient, you could simply rest, chat with other patients and staff, or join in with activities throughout the day.
Specialist Day Clinics
We also run a number of dedicated clinics designed to manage specific symptoms and help you improve your quality of life through exercises and physio.
- Breathing
- Creative Therapy
- Fatigue
