Newly diagnosed? We are here for you.
We know that hearing the news that you, or a loved one, has been diagnosed with a terminal or life-limiting illness can be a terrible shock.
Adjusting to living with that diagnosis can be difficult. Our team of consultants, nurses, healthcare assistants and allied health professionals are all dedicated to supporting you and your loved ones along this journey.
We can offer tailored, specialist care and support for you, and your family and carers, from the point of diagnosis to help you to live in the best way you can with your condition.
We are here to help you maximise your quality of life, to keep your independence and to give you the information you need to make decisions along the way. We will talk with you about what you need and when, and your wishes and feelings about your diagnosis.
We care for patients with a wide variety of illnesses and outlooks, including cancer, heart disease, motor neurone disease, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and neurological disorders.
How can I be referred to Florence Nightingale Hospice?
Most of our patients are referred to us by their GP, District Nurse, Community Palliative Care Nurse, Healthcare Professional or a hospital consultant. If you feel you would benefit from a stay at the In-Patient Unit at the Hospice, please talk to your healthcare provider.
There is no cost for patients to receive care at Florence Nightingale Hospice. The care is delivered through a partnership between Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust and Florence Nightingale Hospice Charity.
