Meet Pete, our Hospice Chaplain

Page 19 - Pete Griffith

Pete joined the Hospice team a year ago, having previously run a photographic studio for 22 years. In his role Pete helps to deliver pastoral, spiritual and religious care to patients, families and staff, also working with the hospital chaplaincy team.

Pete is also able to use his photographic skills, helping to record legacy films for some patients, creating a lasting visual and audio memory for their families as part of our Living Memory project.

“I absolutely love working at the Hospice, no two days are ever the same. I am passionate that everyone receives the best holistic, compassionate, empathetic care possible during their time at the Hospice. Having experienced bereavement in my own family I feel well equipped to help those who come through the Hospice doors.”

And when Pete isn’t at work he is fundraising for the charity! He has recently completed the Northampton Half-Marathon, which he signed up to with just over 24 hours notice with his friend, Chris.

Pete said “The run went really well and was very enjoyable, it was good to be amongst the crowds who were cheering us on. Chris has recently made an amazing recovery from a bad bike crash. To say it’s a miracle is an understatement, and for Chris having to wait for me to keep up with him, I am in awe of such an incredible man and his family. Forever grateful that he is still with us and I celebrate you my friend.”

Well done to Pete for his fantastic recent fundraising achievement and for the work he does everyday in the Hospice to support  our patients and their loved ones.
