Student volunteers are invaluable resource for charity

“I started volunteering at the charity’s Head Office last July whilst I was studying for my Masters in Security, Intelligence and Diplomacy at Buckingham,” says Sophie. “At the time, it was a great excuse to get away from my dissertation and to meet new people within my local community, but I have learnt so much from my time at Florence Nightingale Hospice Charity. From helping to run our crisp packet recycling scheme and engaging with our lovely supporters online to applying for grants worth hundreds of pounds, my experience at the charity has been incredibly rewarding and I’ve truly loved every minute of it.

“Volunteering at Florence Nightingale Hospice Charity definitely feels like you’re part of a family, everyone from the staff to other volunteers are so friendly and dedicated to such an amazing cause. There are so many opportunities to get involved in events alongside other projects so the whole experience has been fun as well as productive. I know that the skills I have learnt along the way will definitely help me in the long-run as I think about my future career.”
