Hours: At least 1 hour in your local FNHC shop. Additional hours can be home-based.

Requirements:: Knowledge of social media. Good writing skills.

You can make a real difference to people in your local community by volunteering at a Florence Nightingale Hospice Charity shop.

Our shops are the face of the charity, seeing supporters and raising vital funds every single day on high streets, retail parks, and a farm (!), all across Buckinghamshire and its borders.

Social Media volunteers help more people find out about our shops, and the fantastic items which are donated to us.

What will I be doing?

You will be working with your Shop Manager to raise the profile of our shops in your local area on social media, to encourage donations, customers and volunteers.

You may be involved in the following activities:

  • Maintain our active social media accounts for Florence Nightingale Hospice Charity shops
  • Photograph creative content whilst based in our shops to showcase our high-quality products
  • Write engaging copy and schedule content to be posted on our social media platforms
  • Research current trends and innovative ways to increase engagement and reach
  • Connect with local businesses and community groups
  • Interact with our supporters by responding to comments/messages

All volunteers are given support and training as necessary to ensure you are happy and confident in your role

“Volunteers make a huge, huge difference to our shops. Each and everyone of them brings something different. They help with customers, the running of the shop and the feel to the shop. We all have such a laugh and they enjoy being with us, just as much as we love having them with us. They do such wonderful work and we can’t thank them enough.”
