Tickets now on sale for The Wiz at Aylesbury Waterside Theatre

Tickets are now on sale for the eagerly awaited for our community production of The Wiz, which hits the big stage at Aylesbury Waterside Theatre on Sunday 27^th August 2023.

The Wiz is a super-soulful, musical retelling of L. Frank Baum’s classic children’s story (The Wizard of Oz). After Dorothy gets swept up in a tornado, she finds herself in the fantastical world of Oz. There, she makes new friends, battles evil witches, and seeks the aid of the all-powerful and mysterious Wiz. Ultimately, Dorothy finds that, if you believe with all your heart, you can always find your way home.

This fun, family-friendly musical will star over 100 local children and raise money to fund specialist palliative and end-of-life care services for patients across Buckinghamshire and its borders.

Produced in partnership with Bucks Music Trust and Aylesbury Community Board, the project aims to bring the local community together for a performance that raises vital funds for Florence Nightingale Hospice Charity. We have received the backing from many local businesses wishing to sponsor the production including Barratt Homes, Lightfoots Solicitors, William Harding’s Charity, Bucks Radio and APS Accountancy Ltd.

Amy Quinlan, Senior Fundraiser for Special Events and Projects for Florence Nightingale Hospice Charity, who is directing the project said:

“All of our young performers are full of enthusiasm and raring to hit the stage. We can’t wait to make this a night to remember! We’re so proud to be bringing the local community together and raising money for such a worthy charity at the same time. We expect this to be a sold-out show and tickets are limited so please don’t delay in ordering yours.”

Our first community production of Nativity! The Musical took to Aylesbury Waterside Theatre’s main stage last year, it was an astounding success raising over £55,000 for the charity. Tickets for this sold out within 24 hours so it is imperative that you book quickly if you’d like to attend.
