Morgan Sindall help to update charity shops

Local construction company Morgan Sindall and their contractors stepped up to support our charity by offering their services and materials for free and helped freshen up two of our shops in Aylesbury as part of their corporate volunteering days.

Every year as part of their Neighbourhood Week, Morgan Sindall goes out to the local community where they are working and volunteer – and this year they chose Florence Nightingale Hospice Charity. Our Walton Court shop was painted and refreshed throughout the back and front of the shop and new window ledges were built at the Furniture Showroom to create a new window display area as well as painting and PAT testing donations.  All of their work saved us an estimated £5,000!

Junaid, an employee of Morgan Sindall who was part of the volunteering team told us, “It’s really nice that you get to play a little part in making a difference and get involved in some way to help out. It is a very rewarding experience and gives us an insight into what Florence Nightingale Hospice Charity does for the local community.”

Kelly Attwood MCIOB, Site Manager at Morgan Sindall said, “The Neighbourhood Week is great for us all to get away from our day jobs and to come out and help other people. It is extremely rewarding to see how much of a difference our help can make and have that level of appreciation for the amazing work Florence does. Everyone will get involved in some way and it’s amazing to be able to give something back and say thank you.”

It’s brilliant to see businesses participating in volunteering days and their help has been amazing. If your company would like to get involved with corporate volunteering, please do get in touch at volunteering@fnhospice.org.uk
